上空から標的に向かって突っ込んで行き、自爆・爆撃することから「Suicide Drone (自爆型ドローン)」とも言われる。

NATOやアメリカから、ウクライナ軍に提供され、実践投入されている。
アメリカからはAeroVironment社の「SwitchBlade(
スウィッチブレード)」が提供されている。

ロシアでも「KUB-BLA」が開発されていて、ウクライナ侵攻での使用が確認されている。
